On September 26, 2023, ISO 24652, "Spherical plain bearings – Rod end spherical plain bearings for hydraulic cylinders," an international standard for rolling bearings led by my country, was officially released. This marks another breakthrough for my country in international standardization work on rolling bearings, following its first leading role in developing the international standardization document ISO/TR 20051:2020, "Spherical plain bearings – Derivation of rated load factors."
ISO 24652 was drafted by Luoyang Bearing Research Institute Co., Ltd., with the participation of Fujian Longxi Bearing (Group) Co., Ltd., Taizhou Kejin Bearing Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Bearing Technology Research Institute. Based on the Chinese industry standard JB/T 13611-2019, "Spherical plain bearings – Rod end spherical plain bearings for hydraulic cylinders," the project was initiated in November 2019. After nearly four years and 12 international working group meetings and 7 domestic working group meetings, it was finally successfully released.
Rod end spherical plain bearings for hydraulic cylinders are primarily used on the piston rods of hydraulic cylinders, connecting the cylinder body and accessories to transmit large mechanical loads. These bearings are widely used in hydraulic cylinders of various construction equipment, agricultural machinery, lifting equipment, and heavy-duty operating equipment. ISO 24652 specifies the structural types, dimensions, tolerances, and technical requirements for rod end spherical plain bearings for hydraulic cylinders, helping to standardize the delivery of these bearings by manufacturers from different countries and ensuring users use standardized connectors.
As the domestic technical counterpart unit of the International Organization for Standardization's Rolling Bearings Technical Committee (ISO/TC4), the Bearing Research Institute will further unite industry forces and promote more Chinese technical solutions to the international standardization arena!
